2019 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

The Ram 1500's powertrain options are now more efficient and capable than ever before. The standard engine under the hood is a 3.6-liter V6 from Pentastar that generates 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. This engine's capabilities are boosted by the brand new eTorque mild-hybrid technology. This system uses a motor generator and a 48V battery for more torque when needed. It also speeds up the ESS system which is also standard. The other engine option available is a 5.7-liter V8 that pushes out 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. This engine offers the option of being equipped with or without the mild-hybrid eTorque system. Both engine options are paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed auto transmission. Multiple drivetrain configurations are available including RW and 4WD.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado Power & Handling

There are a dizzying amount of engine options available for the Chevrolet Silverado. The standard engine is a 4.3-liter V6 that comes mated to a 6-speed auto transmission. Other powertrain options include a turbo 2.7L inline-4 paired with an 8-speed auto transmission and a 6.2L V8 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Two versions of a 5.3L V8 are available for the 2019 model year as well. One is engineered with Active Fuel Management and a 6-speed automatic transmission while the other is built with Dynamic Fuel Management and an 8-speed automatic transmission. These powertrain options are all tied to certain trim levels which means you have to spend more money to get more power.
