2020 Jeep Renegade vs 2020 Chevrolet Trax

Compact SUVs are a marvelous choice for anyone who is looking for a ride height that elevates them above sedans and has more cargo room for camping gear, groceries, and luggage. If you think a compact SUV is going to be the right fit for you and your lifestyle, we suggest you take a look at the 2020 Jeep Renegade and the 2020 Chevrolet Trax. Don't worry, we aren't going to make you dig up all the facts elsewhere. You can conveniently find everything you need to know about these two SUVs right down below, so you can decide which is right for you.

2020 Jeep Renegade Power & Handling

There are two powerful engine options for the Jeep Renegade. Under the hood of the Sport and Latitude models, you'll find a 2.4L four-cylinder engine that outputs 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade the Sport and Latitude models engines to the engine that comes standard in the Limited and Trailhawk. That engine is a turbocharged 1.3L four-cylinder that pumps out 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Both engines deliver exceptional power and plenty of boost to get you going. The Trailhawk comes standard with four-wheel-drive, which is optional for all other models.

2020 Chevrolet Trax Power & Handling

Each variant of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax you come across is powered by the same 1.4L four-cylinder engine. This engine allows the Trax to make 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. While one engine option eliminates having to choose between different engines the sole engine for the Trax is wildly underwhelming. You will not be zooming off from the line when the light turns green in the Trax. The engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive. If you want you can opt for all-wheel-drive.

2020 Jeep Renegade Features & Design

The Sport kicks off the Renegade lineup with a removable cargo floor panel, a six-speaker sound system, cruise control, and a review mirror. With the Latitude, you'll be upgrading to a 7-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient LED lighting, and roof rails. The Limited adds on a heated steering wheel, heated seats, automatic wipers with de-icers, and more! The Trailhawk is ready to hit the trails with hill descent control, tow hooks, all-terrain tires, skid plates, tow hooks, and unique accents throughout the interior and exterior. You can customize the Trailhawk with the LED lighting, Uconnect 8.4 Nav, Advanced Technology, and Safety & Security packages.

2020 Chevrolet Trax Features & Design

The base LS is mostly underwhelming with a rearview camera, manual-folding side mirrors, automatic lights, a six-speaker sound system, smartphone integration, and two USB ports. You can outfit this model with the Tint and Cruise package, which you guessed it adds cruise control and tinted windows. The mid-level LT adds on upgraded cloth upholstery, heated mirrors, remote start, and LED daytime running lights. If you want options you're going to have to opt for the LT Convenience, Driver Confidence, Sun and Sound, and Redline Edition packages. Last up is the Premium with heated front seats, faux leather upholstery, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
