2021 Jeep Cherokee vs Chevrolet Equinox

Are you in the market for a new SUV? It's certainly an exciting time, but it can also get incredibly confusing. After all, there are so many makes and models out there on the market with tons of engines and features, and things can get a tad overwhelming. Here at Cuero Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, we want to help, which is why we have taken two of the best models in the 2021 Jeep Cherokee and the Chevrolet Equinox and compared them, so you get a better idea of which one is best to drive home. 2021 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

There are three impressive engines available for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee, and each one delivers the goods when it comes to power. Coming standard on most trims is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that kicks out an impressive 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Going with the Latitude Lux gets you two terrific options. The first is a 3.2-liter V6 that pumps out 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, and the second is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that has a wonderful 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Each engine pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission that provides you with an incredibly smooth ride. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, but four-wheel-drive is available on all trims. On the Trailhawk, four-wheel-drive comes standard.

2021 Chevrolet Equinox Power & Handling

Unfortunately, there is only one engine option available for the Chevy Equinox, so you're going to be a tad limited when it comes to power. The Equinox comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that gets you a serviceable 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive, though four-wheel-drive is available on every trim except for the L. While the Equinox's power numbers are perfectly acceptable, they aren't quite up to par with what the Cherokee offers. We also like that the Cherokee offers four-wheel-drive at every level.

2021 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

With five available trim levels, the Cherokee comes loaded with available features. Things start well with the Latitude trim as it comes with power front windows, exterior mirrors with a heating element, supplemental turn signals, courtesy lamps, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Next is the Latitude Plus, which adds to what the Latitude has with heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, keyless entry, and push-button start. Looking for more luxury features? The Latitude Lux provides them for you with Nappa leather seats, power front seats with a power lumbar adjuster, and a windshield wiper de-icer. The most off-road features can be found on the Trailhawk trim as it comes with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels and all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance. Rounding things out is the Limited, which has leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.

2021 Chevrolet Equinox Features & Design

There is one less trim available for the Equinox as so there are going to be fewer features. The base trim is the L which comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Then there is the LS which adds rear floor mats, a compact spare tire, and rear privacy glass. Meanwhile, the LT has upgraded headlights, added chrome and body-colored exterior trim, satellite radio, and an upgraded driver information screen. The LT has a few optional packages known as Confidence and Convenience, which have remote engine start, dual-zone automatic temperature control, heated front seats, and a power liftgate. The highest trim is the Premiere which rounds things out with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, and a wireless charging pad.

Conclusion:
