2023 Ram 2500 Rebel Engine Options
Just like the rest of the Ram 2500, the Rebel is eligible for two options under the hood. With standard equipment, you'll get 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque courtesy of a 6.4-liter V8 HEMI with variable cam timing and cylinder deactivation mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the popular 6.7L Cummins Standard Output TurboDisel is options, putting out 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. This delivers sufficient torque at just 1,700 RPM through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Design of the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel
Taking a first look at the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel, your first thought might immediately be "Power Wagon." While the 2500 Rebel does share many design features with the Power Wagon, we can assure you that there are some stark differences, such as the distinctive badging and Mopar performance hood. The Rebel features exclusive off-roading features, including off-road-tuned five-link suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates. Meanwhile, a bed step, a WARN Zeon-12 front-mounted winch, a spray-in bedliner, and LED exterior lighting are available for the Ram 2500 Rebel. The Rebel's available WARN winch is rated for up to 12,000 pounds. Getting behind the wheel of the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel, you'll find one of three seating options, cloth bucket or bench seats, Bristol leather bucket or bench seats, or full Natura Plus leather bucket seats. A few other standard features include a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, a 12-inch fully digital gauge cluster, a forward-view camera, a 360-degree surround-view camera with trailer coverage, and much more.
Off-Roading Equipment of the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel
The Ram Rebel has a history of providing superior off-road capability and traveling far beyond where the pavement ends and far beyond where other trucks would turn back. This is due to the standard off-roading equipment that Ram gives the Rebel trim. For example, as standard equipment, the Ram 2500 Rebel uses an electronic limited-slip rear differential to counteract a loss of traction by limiting how much the wheels spin. Additionally, the Heavy Duty Rebel features an electronic locking rear axle. When engaged, this spins the rear wheels at the same speed to double your traction. As was mentioned above, the Ram 2500 Rebel uses knobby 33-inch all-terrain tires to maintain a grip on the trails. A big part of a successful off-roading truck is having good suspension. This is why Ram created a unique five-link coil suspension system for the Heavy Duty Rebel to handle the trails better than a conventional suspension system would.
