At first glance, you will notice that the Gladiator is heavily inspired by the Wrangler, featuring the same vertical seven-slot grille with round headlights on either side and open-air freedom provided by a removable top and doors and fold-down windshield. A few more exterior features for the entry-level Gladiator Sport include black bumpers, front fog lights, black wheel flares, 17-inch black steel wheels, a black soft top, and front and rear tow hooks. Meanwhile, standard interior features include a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, eight speakers, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, lockable rear seat storage, cloth upholstery, and push-button start.

The Willys trim is designed to honor the heritage of the Jeep Brand, which dates back to 1941 when Willys-Overland provided the Jeep MB to the U.S. Army to transport troops and weapons during World War II. It is instantly recognizable due to its Willys hood decal in stencil lettering and the '4-Wheel Drive' decal on the rear swing gate. Some other exterior features include 32-inch mud-terrain tires, a Gloss Black grille, remote proximity keyless entry, Gloss Black 17-inch alloy wheels, cab rock rails, a limited-slip rear differential, and off-roading shock absorbers. Inside, the Gladiator Willys gains all-weather floor mats and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation.

In 1997, Jeep introduced the Rubicon trim to the Wrangler lineup as the most capable trim level. Now available for the Gladiator lineup, the Rubicon earns its stripes with a wide range of standard features that improve the truck's off-roading abilities. Instead of the Gladiator's standard Comman-Trac 4x4 system, the Rubicon uses Rock-Trac 4x4, which Optimizes the transfer case gearing while in for low mode to better handle rugged terrain. In addition to the upgraded 4x4 system, the Gladiator Rubicon also features an electronically disconnecting front sway bar, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac all-terrain tires, locking front/rear differentials, FOXOff-roading shock absorbers, and more. Meanwhile, a winch-capable front bumper, LED exterior lighting, and a forward-facing camera system are optional for the 2023 Gladiator Rubicon.

The Gladiator Mojave is the only trim level in the lineup to wear the Desert Rated badge instead of the Gladiators Trail Rated badge worn by the rest of the lineup. Designed to tear up the desert Dunes, the Gladiator Mojave features a 1-inch factory lift, a locking rear differential, 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass shock absorbers with external reservoirs, hydraulic Jones adapters, all-terrain tires, and high clearance fender flares.
